The Bucks Head is situated in the heart of the small country market town of Church Stretton
The Bucks Head is on the door step of local shops and services. Just a few minutes walk away is The Long Mynd, a vast area of hills and moor land, much of it belonging to and managed by The National Trust.
The Long Mynd has been an attraction for walkers for well over 100 years and has many walks, lots of which seem to end at a pub. There is also the Carding Mill Valley, one of the most attractive valleys in England. The whole of this area is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The area is a good base for exploring further a field. The county town of Shrewsbury is only 12 miles away by road or rail, as is the historic town of Ludlow. Also within easy driving distance is the world renowned Ironbridge Gorge and its many museums, while in the other direction is the Welsh border and Marches with Offas Dyke.
